Two 2026 RAV4 SUV's driving side by side

2026 Toyota RAV4 Coming Soon to Toyota of Bozeman, MT

America’s best-selling car enters a new generation in 2026. Toyota’s RAV4 promises to completely overhaul its look, providing a sportier, more athletic body paired with a newly standard hybrid powertrain. The new RAV4 completely ditches gas powertrains in favor of a couple of hybrid options, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The new RAV4’s cabin adopts a blockier design philosophy that’s likely to keep it at the top of the best sellers list again in 2026. It features storage opportunities throughout the cabin and plenty of cargo space in the rear, as you’d expect from the RAV4. The new Toyota SUV also features a wealth of new technology and features throughout the cabin. While we’re still gathering details on pricing, features, and trim levels, we’ll highlight everything we know about the new RAV4, from the powertrains to the release date. 2026 RAV4 Hybrid Powertrain

The most significant change the RAV4 adopts in 2026 is the shift away from traditional gas engines. Instead, most RAV4s come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a pair of electric motors that generate 226 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard; however, if you prefer all-wheel drive, you’ll get a third motor on the rear axle, which will increase your output to 236 horsepower. If you’d like some added fuel efficiency and horsepower, the RAV4 PHEV is the way to go, promising 320 ponies and 50 miles of all-electric driving range. While we’re still gathering details on the new PHEV powertrain, we expect it to be able to charge from 0 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. As we have more information about fuel economy and the added efficiency for the hybrid powertrain, we’ll update our listings. Visit our Toyota dealer in Montana to learn more!

New Toyota RAV4 Trim Levels and Features

The updated RAV4 is likely to retain similar cargo space to the base model, offering 37.5 cubic feet of space in the rear and a total cargo capacity of up to 69.8 cubic feet. While trim levels are still being confirmed and may change later in the year, we expect ten trim levels to start:

  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 LE Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 Woodland Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 SE Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 XSE Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 SE PHEV
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 Woodland PHEV
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 XSE PHEV
  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport PHEV

We’re not sure about the features you can expect across the trim levels, but models like the Woodland will likely offer the most off-road features, making them best suited for camping trips. Meanwhile, the SE and upper trim levels will likely come with amenities such as ventilated seats and more advanced technology. As we learn more about the new RAV4's features, we’ll update our site.
