2026 Toyota bZ

2026 Toyota bZ for Sale in Bozeman | Toyota of Bozeman

The Toyota bZ4X rolled off the production line for the first time in 2023, marking Toyota’s redoubled efforts in the EV market. It was the first EV Toyota had released for many years, and the compact EV boasted edgy styling and plenty of driving range at a reasonable price. The bZ4X had a marketing problem, though. bZ4X doesn’t roll off the tongue. For 2026, the Toyota bZ drops the "4X" from the nameplate. That’s not all you’ll find in the new bZ, though, with updates to the electric motors, a newly standard NACS port, larger battery options, and updated styling. All told, the bZ enters 2026 with 25% more range than before while adding some extra horsepower to boot. We’ll preview all the changes to be aware of with the new bZ, from the cargo space to the latest technology. 2026 bZ Charge Range and Performance

The bZ’s update starts with the new electric motors, ensuring every model offers more power than their outgoing counterparts. Output will vary between models. Front-wheel drive options provide 168 to 221 horsepower, but the all-wheel drive Toyota bZ delivers 338 horsepower, courtesy of a motor on each axle. No matter which model you select, critics highlight the bZ’s improved ride quality and handling, marking a substantial improvement when compared to the bZ4X. At its quickest, the bZ should run from 0 to 60 in about 4.8 seconds. The updated design added a NACS (North American Charging Standard) port to the bZ, making it compatible with Tesla Superchargers. A new 57.7 kWh battery is standard on base models, with 236 miles of estimated driving range. Most models get the larger 74.7 kWh battery, which will deliver anywhere from 278 to 314 miles of range, depending on your configuration. The bZ can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes with a DC fast charger.

New bZ Trim Levels and Features

We’re still waiting for some facts to be confirmed about the new bZ, including pricing and cargo space. However, we would estimate the bZ starts somewhere around $35,000, with top trim levels likely priced at about $45,000. After all, the bZ is built to be an attainable, entry-level electric vehicle. It still features a compact frame, and we expect it to align with the outgoing model, offering 27.7 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear and up to 56.9 cubic feet of space with the rear row folded. We expect to see it in three trim levels for 2026:

  • 2026 Toyota bZ XLE
  • 2026 Toyota bZ XLE Plus
  • 2026 Toyota bZ Limited

The XLE has the least range, but sets an affordable price point for folks looking for an everyday commuter. The XLE Plus has the most range with the mid-level horsepower rating, but if you want that classic EV giddyup, it’s worth opting for the Limited for the extra horsepower. No matter the trim level, all models get amenities like heated front seats, rear ambient lighting, alloy wheels, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. 2026 Toyota bZ Technology and Safety

The bZ’s cabin has two screens on the dashboard, a digital gauge display behind the steering wheel, and a 14.0-inch touchscreen in the center of the dash. Of course, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. The cabin has been redesigned to improve sightlines while reducing the bulkier design of the outgoing model. Of course, you’ll find plenty of technology throughout the cabin with a pair of wireless phone chargers and an optional radiant heating system in the lower section of the dashboard. Toyota’s come packed with all sorts of driver assistance features these days, and the bZ is no exception, offering adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and pedestrian detection.
